Monitor and Research

By collecting data to monitor the health of fish populations. See more.


By conducting scientific research aimed at understanding and enhancing the freshwater environment. This includes collaborating with other conservation, fishery and heritage organisations to enhance the aquatic environment.

Advisory and Consultancy

By providing practical advice on the management of fisheries and rivers. Loch Lomond Fisheries Trust act as consultants to conduct surveys of fish habitat, fish populations and invasive species.

Education and Information

By informing and educating people about the freshwater resource of Loch Lomond.

The Trust is a member of Rivers and Fisheries Trusts of Scotland (RAFTS) which represents all of Scotland's Fisheries Trusts covering in excess of 80% of Scotland's rivers. The Trust works closely with RAFTS and other organisations to address the growing number of local issues facing both migratory and non-migratory species and collaborate in national programmes.
